What are we up to? Glad you asked!
Thanks to everyone who has submitted images for consideration for the online portfolio.
We can still use more, especially in photography and logo design. Feel free to continue to note us with items in your galleries here that you feel might be appropriate. (limit 3 per artist/designer)
Secondly, we'd like to take a minute to introduce you to the WDA webmaster, ~
GuyLeech. He will be quite active in the web design quality control role of our organization along with =
mokiok who has generously provided us with free web hosting for our site when it's ready to launch through his up and coming hosting service
Tikalhosting.
(Contest details will be up within the week) We are very fortunate to have these guys, and ALL of you on board!
A few words from Guy-
"Hey, I'm Guy Leech, the new webmaster for WDA4Life. I'm 18, and live in Canberra, Australia, where I'm studying a Diploma of Graphic Design. As for a bit of background on me, I've lived in Sydney and Canberra, and I spent 4 years in France when I was about 10. I then moved back to Australia, and have since been studying, really. I dropped out of college halfway through year 11, as I didn't see the relevance of 'Romantic English Literature' to anything I wanted to do in life, and since then have been through a few different school, none of which I stayed at long. However, I've chosen to do this Graphic Design course, rather than being told to do something, and I'm really enjoying it, and going to stick with it.
I'm a fan of all things related to computers, which I've been fiddling with since I was about 15. My main focus is in coding websites, but I'm also good with hardware, and have average programming ability in a lot of languages. I'm a standards fanatic, and I read articles on 'good' web design every day, as well as information architecture, upcoming standards, so on, and so forth. I'm mostly self taught, though I did about half of a Diploma of IT. What else can I say? My other loves are skiing, myself, philosophy, and cooking (I LOVE it)!
I joined WDA4Life after seeing it on designersCouch, as I'd been thinking about doing something similar for a while now. As I make websites when I'm doing nothing else (or make them anyway), I thought I might as well make them mean something, so here I am. I'll be coordinating the WDA website once we get the design competition underway, so I look forward to seeing you around.
Cheers
- Guy"
Hope all is well and we will continue to give you updates as things progress.

We are a worldwide community of artists who will offer artistic services to qualified non-profit organizations free of charge.
We realize that some organizations have internal capabilities but many do not. Some will not want/need our help, while others will consider this a gift. Commonly, social care organizations have poor visual appeal, and most of them don’t even know it! We have the ability to pull our worldwide resources together and donate some spare time to redesign or create a brand new visual identity and more for the non-profit organizations that can use our help.
